The glacio-karstic Mariet depression is located at 1,000 m a.s.l, in the limestone mountains of the Bauges massif (Northern French Alps, France). Its position is a key to understand the würmian chronology of the englacing phases. Considering the moraine deposits, Coutterand (2010) has defined the WGM (Würm Glacial Maximum) of the Isère glacier up to 1,250 m a.s.l inside the Bauges massif.
